Terms of Service

Agreement

These terms govern your use of The Software Society platform and related services. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at support@thesoftwaresociety.io if you believe an account has been compromised.

Acceptable use

• Do not use the platform to send unsolicited messages in violation of applicable law, including anti-spam and telemarketing rules.
• Do not upload unlawful content, infringe intellectual property, or misrepresent your identity.
• Do not attempt to breach, probe, or disrupt the service or other customers' data.
• Do not resell or redistribute the service without a written agreement with us.

You are responsible for obtaining any consent required to contact the people whose data you load into the platform.

Your content

You retain ownership of the content and data you put into the platform. You grant us the limited licence needed to host, process and display it in order to operate the service for you. We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train generalised AI models.

Third-party integrations

The platform can connect to third-party services such as Google, Stripe and Twilio. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for changes a third party makes to its APIs, pricing or availability. Data handling for connected Google accounts is described in our Privacy Policy.

Fees

Paid plans are billed in advance on the cycle shown at checkout. Usage-based charges are billed as incurred. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We will give notice before changing prices for an existing subscription.

Availability

We work to keep the platform available and to give notice of planned maintenance, but the service is provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.

Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach of these terms, for non-payment, or where required by law. On termination we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is" to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of these terms is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms. If changes are material we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the platform or by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
